Robust 3-d Motion Estimation and Depth Layering

چکیده
Two problems are addressed in this paper: camera 3-D motion estimation and image depth layering. For the first problem, the method we adopt is the use of an hierarchy of motion models in combination with robust estimation methods. A dense motion vector field is assumed to be granted. For the second, an iterative deterministic relaxation algorithm is used and the extraction of the image depth layers is based on both optical flow and luminance information.

Robust direct motion estimation considering discontinuity
In this paper, we propose a robust motion estimation algorithm using uncalibrated 3D motion model considering depth discontinuity. Most of the previous direct motion estimation algorithms with 3D motion model compute the depth value through the local smoothing, which result in erroneous results at depth discontinuity. In this paper, we overcome this problem at depth discontinuity by adding disc...
متن کاملMotion and structure from multiple cues; image motion, shading flow, and stereo disparity
We investigate the recovery of 3-D motion and structure from the stereo images of a stationary environment. A Kalman filter-based framework is proposed for the reconstruction of 3-D structure from multiple visual cues, through the integration of image motion and stereo disparity with the shading flow that is induced by the rotational motion of the source. A common scenario involves the coupled ...
متن کامل3D Pose Tracking with Linear Depth and Brightness Constraints
This paper explores the direct motion estimation problem assuming that video-rate depth information is available, from either stereo cameras or other sensors. We use these depth measurements in the traditional linear brightness constraint equations, and we introduce a new depth constraint equation. As a result, estimation of certain types of motion, such as translation in depth and rotations ou...
متن کاملIntegrated segmentation and depth ordering of motion layers in image sequences
We describe a method to segment and depth order motion layers simultaneously in an image sequence. Previous approaches have tended to ignore the depth ordering issue or treat it as a post-processing operation. We argue here that motion estimation and segmentation are crucially dependent on depth order and hence that the latter should form an integral part of any layering scheme. Using an explic...
متن کاملSparse Depth Sampling for Interventional 2-D/3-D Overlay: Theoretical Error Analysis and Enhanced Motion Estimation
Patient motion compensation is challenging for dynamic 2D/3-D overlay in interventional procedures. A first motion compensation approach based on depth-layers has been recently proposed, where 3-D motion can be estimated by tracking feature points on 2-D X-ray images. However, the sparse depth estimation introduces a systematic error. In this paper, we present a theoretical analysis on the syst...
